The support of the CAMAC standard is a must for a Physics readout oriented company. It is a challenge however to base a current implementation of the traditional open bus standard and its later extensions on leading edge technology to facilitate integration into nowadays data acquisition systems. At a first glance a Gigabit link CAMAC controller may look like a mismatch between bus and link bandwidth, at second sight the readout of FASTCAMAC exhibits a good match of source and destination bandwidth.

The SIS5100 CAMAC controller can be used as a PCI (Express) to CAMAC interface in conjunction with the SIS1100 PCI or SIS1100-eCMC PCI Express Gigabit receiver cards, or as a VME to CAMAC interface in conjunction with the SIS3100 VME Gigabit module.
